Wood Carvings

Neem wood is not only durable and sturdy but is easy to carve too. Its durability comes from the fact that they are termite proof and can withstand extreme temperatures; both these properties are inherent in neem wood and thus come naturally to them, without treating them with artificial chemicals and medicines, unlike other woods. Moreover, they have pleasant aromatic odor, which keeps the indoors air scented. Neem wood in Indian tradition is also said to have religious belief to ward off evil and impurities. This is another reason why they are used to carve religious statues and sculptures.
